Garnishes

We know that looking your best is always important and we want to make sure your drink does too. Here at Dirty Drinks we have gone over all the garnishes and how to prepare them so that your drink has that final eye catching touch!

Cocktail Onion

A cocktail onion is usually a pearl onion pickled in a brine with small amounts of turmeric and paprika. Pearl onions are naturally sweet, which makes them an excellent pairing with many cocktails.

Green Olives

The traditional Martini garnish, green olives should be served without pimentos (the little red thing) and served skewered on a toothpick, plastic sword, or martini skewer and placed in the drink.

Lemon Twist

Cut the ends off of a whole Lemon. Cut the Lemon lengthwise, only cutting thru 1 peel. Take a spoon and clean out the Lemon so that you are left with only the peel. Roll the Lemon peel tightly into a tube and use a toothpick to secure it in place. Slice the Lemon roll into 5-6 strips.

Lime Slice/Wheel

Cut the lime crosswise into 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick slices. Make a small cut in the middle of each slice. Now you can easily slide it onto the rim of the glass without juice squirting everywhere or ruining the look of the garnish.

Maraschino Cherry

A maraschino cherry is a preserved, sweetened cherry, typically made from light-colored sweet cherries. In their modern form, the cherries are first preserved in a brine solution usually containing sulfur dioxide and calcium chloride to bleach the fruit, then soaked in a suspension of food coloring, sugar syrup, and other components. Green maraschino cherries use a mint flavoring
